Centennial by James Michener
I loved this book because it made me aware of life in the days before Colorado was even a state. It was cool to learn about life long ago and the native people who once lived here.

Tesla's Attic by Neal Shusterman

Nick, his younger brother, and his Dad move to Colorado Springs after a house fire. They move into an old house owned by his deceased Grandmother. As they begin to settle in and clean up, they discover all kinds of "junk" in the attic. A garage sale gets rid of most of it. But then Nick and his friends discover many of the items have some strange properties! I really enjoyed this book - the characters were like friends and the struggles that Nick had I could relate to. Moving and making friends is hard. This book had me continually wondering what would happen next.
